Q. POMPONIUS MUSA, (c.66 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.66 g), obv. Apollo laureate head to right, wreath behind, rev. Polymnia, the Muse of Rhetoric, standing facing in pensive mood, wearing long flowing tunic and peplum, Q. POMPONI on right, MVSA on left, (S.361, Cr.410/10, Syd.817-18, RSC Pomponia 15-16). Toned, banker's marks on obverse, good fine - nearly very fine and very rare.
