SOUTH AFRICA, a small collection of covers, (6) with watercolour drawings by D.C. Owles sent from a P.O'Conner of the South African Infranty 'On Active Service' 1916 without stamps but addressed to Natal and stamped 'Passed by Censor' (two examples illustrated); together with large pieces or covers from the 1900 South Afican War to prisoners of War at camps in Ceylon (5) fixed with stamps (3) VRI 1d on Orange Free State issues; other covers from ZAR to Cape Town 1901 both fixed with VRI 1d stamps of the ZAR (2); together with a small group mostly of SA or SWA FDC c.1936-1963 (23); others (6). Used, some rare. (40)
