NO. 5 SQUADRON RAAF DESK ORNAMENT IN BRONZE WITH WOODEN BASE30CM BY16CM IN HEIGHT OVERALL, circa pre- or 2nd World War. 'RAAF Over Europe' by Johnson hardbound PP244. London 1946. Together with letter from the author to Air Marshal Sir Richard Williams requesting he accept this complementary copy. Very fine.

Sir Richard Williams KBE CB DSO RAAF. Born 3 August 1880. Commanded No.1 Squadron AFC 1917-18; 40 Wing RAF 1918; Chief of Air Staff RAAF 1921- 28; Air officer in charge of administration, coatal command RAF 1939; Commanding Overseas Headquarters RAAF 1941-42; RAAF representative Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington 1942- 46; Director General of Civil Aviation 1946-55. Died 7 Febuary 1980.
