DEFENCE OF ACRE, 1799, in bronze (48mm) (BHM.473; Eimer 905), by J.G.Hancock, obverse, uniformed bust of Sir William Sidney Smith left, reverse, youth standing on French flag on the foreshore holding a laurel branch in left hand and shield in right with palm tree behind, in the exergue, 'Bonaparte Repulsed And/Siege Of Acre Raised/20 May 1799'; also another, 1799, in bronze (41mm) (BHM476; Eimer 906), by G.Mills & N.G.A.Brenet, obverse, uniformed bust of Admiral Sir S Smith left, reverse, the British lion protecting the Syrian camel from the French tiger, in the exergue, 'Acre Defended/Bonaparte Repulsed/Syria Saved/XXth May/MDCCLXXXXIX', one of Mudie's National Medals. Both medals cleaned and now re-toning, otherwise very fine - good very fine. (2)

Together with collector's graph paper pages with descriptive details of the campaign and the medals written in Indian ink.
