JULIUS CAESAR, (c.46-5 B.C.), silver denarius, Spanish mint, (3.94 g), obv. Venus diademed head to right, small Cupid behind at shoulder, rev. Gaulish captive and Gallia captive seated beneath trophy, CAESAR in exergue, (S.1404, Syd. 1014, Cr.468/1, RSC Julius Caesar or RSC 13). Ligthly toned, surface pitting, very fine and very scarce.
