GERMANICUS, son of Nero Claudius Drusus, (born 15 B.C., died A.D. 19), AE dupondius, Rome mint, issued under Caligula, A.D. 37-41, (15.01 g), obv. GERMANICVS CAESAR, Germanicus in triumphal quadriga to right, with sceptre, rev. SIGNIS RECEPT DEVICTIS GERM, large SC below, Germanicus standing left, right hand raised, holding legionary eagle in left hand, (S.1820, RIC 57, C.7, CBN 140, BMC 93). Toned, good fine and rare.
