CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 42, (28.36 g), obv. laureate head of Claudius to right, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR IMP, rev. NERO CLAVDIVS DRVSVS GERMAN IMP around, triumphal arch surmounted by equestrian statue right spearing downwards all between two trophies, S C across field, (S.1852, RIC 114, BMC 187, C.48). Even light brown toning, surface pitting, good fine and rare.
