CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 199, Laodicea mint, (1.77 g), obv. laureate bust of Caracalla, draped and cuirassed to right, around IMP CAE M AVR A[NT AVG P TR P II], rev. Spes walkling to left, holding flower and raising skirt, around SPES PVBLICA, (S.6889, RIC 341, RSC 600); together with a corroded plated denarius of Caracalla. First coin fine with portion of obverse broken off, second coin poor. (2)
