HAVERCAMP, Sigebert., Dissertationes de Alexandri Magni Numismate, Lugduni Batavorum (Leiden), 1722, 166pp, 22 attractively engraved plates of ancient coins, engraved front and end plates, small square quarto, 20.5 x 16 cm, contemporary calf sides, spine rebacked with gilt lettering. Fine and rare.

Ex David G. L. Worland Library of Sydney with his bookplate, previously Kolbe Spink New York Auction December 7th, 1996, lot 54, the Erich and Lili Wronker Collection. With ink notes recording the book's purchase by J.L.Colworth at the 1826 Sotheby sale of Taylor Combe's library and its acquisition in 1881 by J.Hilton.
Taylor Combe, numimsmatist and archaeologist was keeper of coins and antiquities at the British Museum in the early 1800s. A full-page hand written discussion, apparently by Taylor Combe entitled "Apollonius of Tyrana in Cappadocia" is inserted on page 154 of this book.
