PAIR: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 3 reverse), - three clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal; St John Ambulance Brigade Medal for South Africa 1899-1902. 1716 Ordly: J.Todd. St John Amb: Bde: on first medal, 1716. Pte J.Todd. Tibshelf Corps. on second medal. First medal impressed, second medal engraved. Hairlines, some light scratches and edge bumps on first medal, a few very small edge nicks on second medal, otherwise very fine - good very fine and scarce.

The Corps of the Brigade in Tibshelf, Derbyshire, England was formed in 1887. There were reportedly 14 men from the Tibshelf Brigade who volunteered for service in South Africa.
