SOLD $600

RUSSIA, various banknotes, treasury notes and government credit notes, 1890s-2000s, includes many larger note issues, noted issues for East Siberia and Transcaucasia, one million rubles, 1922a (P.S719) (Unc) (illustrated), also noted modern issues including the Mavrodi banknotes in the mid-1990s for the infamous MMM financial ponzi scheme. Mostly fine - uncirculated. (125)

MMM is believed to come from the first letter of the scheme's founder's surnames (Sergey Mavrodi, Olga Meinikova, and Vyacheslav Mavrodi)), while another theory is that it derives from Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox.
