AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE CANTEENS SERVICE, Canteen Order, two shillings, New South Wales issue, N871043/4 consecutive pair, stamped 'Money Order Counter No.35 G.P.O. Sydney, 17Feb1944', named in ink to 'No 422296/Name Sgt W.A.G. Reid R.A.L.', both unused. Staple mark in left corner and some foxing, otherwise very fine and scarce, particularly in consecutive order. (2)

Ronald Arthur Lloyd Reid, born 21May1918 at Willoughby, Sydney, NSW; Enl.26Apr1942 at Sydney, NSW; died 28Jun1944 as Flight Sergeant posted to HQ Middle East; recorded on the Roll of Honour at Asquith, Hornsby, NSW. In newspaper reports from the war Flight Sergeant Reid was reported missing believed killed.
