FRENCH FLEET DEFEATED OFF CAPE FINISTERE, 1747, in silver (43mm) (MH 345; Eimer 616), by T.Pingo, obverse, bust of Lord Anson left being crowned by Victory with her foot on the prow of a galley, reverse, Victory holding a wreath and trident and standing upon a sea monster, six laurel wreaths around with the names of the principal officers of Anson's ship, Centurion, on her world circumnavigation 1740-1744 (type with Campbel). Nicely toned, a few very minor edge nicks and a few marks in Anson's hair, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
