QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899 TO WIA, (type 2 reverse with traces of ghost dates), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Rhodesia, Orange Free State, Transvaal. 6 Tpr: W.O.Jones, 1st W. Aus. Bshmn. Impressed. A few very small edge bumps, otherwise toned good very fine.
Unit medal roll indicates entitlement to South Africa 1901 clasp.
William Oliver Jones, prospector, age 27 from Victoria, 3rd (Bushmen's) Contingent; contingent comprised 7 officers and 109 other ranks; Emb.13Mar1900; WIA 22Jul1900, (Murray says 'slightly', but newspaper reports state 'severely') at Koster River; RTA 09May1901; Disemb.28May1901 at Fremantle, WA; Disbanded 18Aug1901.
