POLICE LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL (EIIR TYPE 1). Sen. Const. Percival E. Yon. Engraved. In Royal Mint case of issue with spare ribbon, toned extremely fine.
Percival Edward Yon was born 12 September 1898 at Crystal Brook, South Australia. In WWI he served in the AIF enlisting on 1 June 1918 at Adelaide. He embarked for overseas on 22 October 1918 but was recalled about 20 December and discharged on 31 January 1919. He married in South Australia. The above medal type was issued to British police but extended to Australian police in 1956 so presumably this medal was issued to Constable Yon in between 1956 and 1958 when he would have been in the age range of 58-60.
