3321 Albert Edward Spain served with HMAS Pioneer 23Jun1914-07Nov1916.
Together with a Mexican eight reales coin 1850GC. HMAS Pioneer visited Cocos Islands two weeks after the HMAS Sydney/SMS Emden battle. Some crew members from HMAS Sydney purchased Mexican eight reales coins salvaged by local people from the wreck of SMS Emden.
