There are two servicemen with this name on the CWGC rolls. G/72369 Private Joseph Burgoyne, 7th Bn The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment), KIA 01Sep1918, buried at Combles Communal Cemetery Extension, Combles, Somme, Hauts-de-France, France, and also 11880 Private Joseph Burgoyne, 6th Bn The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, KIA 09Aug1915 at the age of 20, commemorated at the Helles Memorial, near Sedd el Bahr, Turkey and is at the tip of the Gallipoli Peninsula overlooking the Dardanelles.
