MEMORIAL PLAQUE WWI, named to Samuel Entwhistle Howarth, affixed to the centre of a large timber block (approx 16.5x16.5x3cm), affixed at the top right corner is a Canadian Memorial Cross (GRI), without ribbon, reverse details unknown as it is glued to the timber. Plaque cleaned, traces of past oxidation, otherwise fine, the cross very fine.

823541 Corporal Samuel Entwhistle (incorrectly recorded by CWGC as Sam Entwistle) Howarth, Canadian Infantry (Western Ontario Regiment), DOW (bomb wounds to chest) 10Aug1918 at age 35, buried at Crouy British Cemetery, Crouy-Sur-Somme, France. Sam Howarth was born 24Nov1884 at Bury, Lancashire, England; Enl.11Jan1915 at London, Ontario when a resident of St Thomas, Ontario, Canada.
