MASONIC KNIGHTS TEMPLAR SWORD, late 19th century, blade (71cm) ornately decorated with gilded background on both sides and features knights and other symbolism and on one side the Knight's name, 'William F. Wood', at the top near the guard is the maker's name, 'The M.C.Lilley & Co, Columbia, Ohio', the guard with the Knights Templar symbol on one side and a cross on the other, the ivory handle with the Knight's initials, 'WFW' on one side and the Knight's Templar symbol on the other side, the pommel is a metal knight's head in armour and with a short chain for attachment to guard, (chain needs a few links added at end), the scabbard with Masonic symbols at the locket and chafe and at the centre with the monogram initials, 'KM' (Knight of Malta), around the Knights Templar symbol on the locket is impressed, 'Be Thou Faithful Unto Death & I Will Give Thee A Crown By Life' (overall length in scabbard 93cm and without scabbard 89cm). Most silvering and gilding on the scabbard, handle and pommel missing, tiny bend at sword tip and some light oxidation on sword edge and on the nickel plated scabbard, otherwise good fine.
