ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.340-330 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.64 g), obv. female head to left with hair bound up behind, rev. corn ear, [M]ETA to left, leaf to right, upon it a mouse facing left, (cf.S.410, Noe 472 [same reverse die], SNG ANS 358). Toned, very fine and a very scarce type.
