MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.03 g), uncertain mint copying eastern mint (Babylon or Susa?), issued late 4th-3rd centuries B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, Y**L* in left field, Y**L* below throne, in exergue **BASILEW[S]*, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, cf.Price B42). Toned, good fine and unpublished in the standard references.
