IONIA, Ephesus, (c.96-95 B.C.), silver cistophoric tetradrachm, (12.492 grams), year MB = 42= 96-95 B.C., obv. cista mystica containing serpent, all within ivy wreath, rev. bow in case between two coiled serpents, to left MB over monogram **EFE, to right torch, stag above to right, (cf.S.4395, cf.Kleiner 44 [ANS MN 18, Series 10, [p.26] type not previously reported). Very fine/good very fine and very rare, apparently unpublished.
