SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria, Uranius Antoninus, (A.D. 253-254), AE 32, Emesa Mint, issued SE 565, A.D. 253-254, (19.71 g), obv. laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Uranius Antoninus to right, around AVTOK COV**LP* ANT**W*NINOC CE, rev. around EMIC**W*N KO**LW*N, hexastyle temple containing the conical stone of Elagabal (ornamented with a facing eagle), shaded by two umbrellas, pediment ornamented with crescent, date **EXF* in exergue, (S.4414, Baldus 38-42, BMC 24, SNG Hunterian 3174). Deep brown toning, struck off centre on obverse, some surface pitting, otherwise good fine - nearly very fine and extremely rare.
