NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE sestertius issued c.65, Rome mint, (26.02 g), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P P P, rev. Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and parazonium, ROMA in exergue, S C across field, (cf.S.1961, RIC 273 var, WCN 145 var). Uneven toning, surface tooling and smoothing, flan flaw on reverse, nearly very fine and scarce.
