DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 88-89, (10.13 g), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XIIII CENS PER P P, rev. around VIRTVTI AVGVSTI, Virtus standing to right, holding spear and parazonium, S C across field, (cf.S.2817, RIC 373, C.655). Attractive dark green patina, some surface pitting, very fine, scarce in this condition.
