PERTINAX, (A.D. 193), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 193, (2.96 g), obv. Pertinax head laureate to right, around IMP CAES P HELV [PE]RTIN AVG, rev. around IANO CO-NSERVAT, Janus standing facing, holding sceptre in right hand, (S.6040, RSC 17, RIC 3, BMC 2). Toned, flan crack at 1 o'clock with some edge splits, nearly very fine and very rare.
