DIOCLETIAN, (A.D. 284-305), AE folles, Serdica mint, 5th officina, issued A.D. 305-6 after abdication, (11.12 g), obv. laureate half bust of Diocletian in imperial mantle with olive branch and mappa to right, around D N DIOCLETIANO BEATISSIMO SEN AVG, rev. around PROVIDENTIA DEORVM QVIES AVGG, Providentia standing to right extending right hand to Quies standing left, holding branch, leaning on sceptre, .SM.SD. in exergue, S F in field, E between, (cf.S.3543, RIC 14a). Grey patina with some silvering, good very fine and scarce.
