FRANCE, County of Provence, Jeanne of Naples and Louis of Taranto (1347-1362), silver gros tournois, (2.80 g, 24.16mm), obv. +LODOVICVS:Z. IOhANNA:D[EI GRA]TIA, the king and queen seated together on thrones, Louis with sceptre and Jeanne with a cross on a globe, rev. +IERVS[ALEM:Z: SI]CILIE:REX: Z: REGINA, within a shield with Jerusalem cross and one and a half fleur de lis, (Ducal coat of arms of Jerusalem and Anjou), I to left and U to right, (Boudeau -, Duplessy, Feodales -, Poey d'Avant -). Toned, slightly clipped, very fine, apparently unpublished, and of greatest rarity.

Acquired some years ago from a private collection in France through the vendor's grandfather, also with attached photo.
