IRELAND, Henry VIII (1509-1547), third coinage, posthumous issue billon groat, Dublin Mint, mm. P, issued 1547-1547, (2.40 g), (S.6488, DF 218). Round, golden tone, very good distinctive portrait, good very fine, very rare, regarded by Patrick Finn as the finest known base issue groat from Ireland.

Ex Mark E. Freehill Collection from Noble Numismatics Sale 57 (lot 3090) and from Patrick Finn with his ticket and packet, list 5 (No.433), purchased September 1995.
