PERSIA - LYDIA, Achaemenid Empire, Persian Imperial Coinage (c.485-420 B.C.), struck in period of Darios I - Xerxes II, gold daric, (8.31 g), obv. bearded archer (king?) running to the right wearing kidaris and kandys with transverse spear over shoulder, and bow in right hand, rev. oblong incuse punch, (S.4679, Carradice type IIIb (early), Group A/B, nos.27, Pl.XIII, BMC Arabia Pl.XXIV, 26, Meadows, Administration 321, Sunrise 24). Fine - nearly very fine and scarce.
