THRACE, Maroneia, (c.500 B.C.), silver tetrobol, (2.17 g), obv. forepart of horse to left, with a crude stylised mane, rev. quadripartite incuse square, the surfaces of the quarterings irregular and sunk, (cf.S.1343, May 4 [Num. Chron 1965, p.37, Pl.III,4], Schonert-Geiss 5 [p.119]). Nearly very fine and very rare.
