MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III (the Great), (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.46 g), Alabanda mint, issued c.188-173 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right, with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to right **ALEXANDROU, to left, under arm Pegasus to left, below throne **D*, countermarked with bust of Tyche on obverse, (cf.S.6713, Price 2463). Large flan and very fine.
