IONIA, Achaemenid Period, Spithridates, satrap of Lydia and Ionia, (c.334 B.C.), AE chalkous (11 mm, 1.03 g), obv. Head of Spithridates to right, wearing tiara, rev. **[S]P*-I, forepart of horse to right, monogram in the upper left field, (S.-, SNG von Aulock 1823, SNG Cop. 1538. Winzer 19.4). Dark brown patination, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
