EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy VI, (180-145 B.C.), first sole reign (180-170 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, dated year 5 = 177-176 B.C., (14.05 g), Kition mint, obv. diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, with aegis, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU*, to left LE, to right KI, (S.7894, Sv.1351, SNG Cop.587 [same obverse die], DCA 42). Bright, nearly extremely fine, metal flaw on edge rare.
