ITALY, Paestrum, Tiberius, issued by the magistrates, M. Egnatius and Q Octavivs II viri, AE 17, (3.62 g), obv. laureate head right of Tiberius (or Augustus), trace of lituus before, rev. within wreath PAE S SC M EGNAT[IVS Q] OCTAVIVS IIVIR, (cf.S.257, RPC 606, SNG Cop. 1381). Very fine or better, rare.
Ex Tom Cederlind stock with ticket.
RPC notes only 4 examples; the attribution to Tiberius is fairly certain but the portrait looks like Augustus. RPC attributes it to Tiberius with reservations. This example is finer than all illustrated examples.
