GALBA, (A.D. 68-69), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. August-September 68, Rome mint, (10.40 g), obv. laureate head of Galba to right, around SER GA BA (sic) IMP CAES AVG, rev. S C, Vesta seated left on throne, holding patera and palladium, VESTA below, (cf.S.2138, cf.RIC 306, C.310). Deep old toning, some surface pitting, otherwise good very fine or better and very rare with the spelling error lacking the L in Galba.
