GORDIAN III (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianii, Rome mint, issued 243-4, (4.08 g, 3.93 g), obv. radiate bust of Gordian III to right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Sol standing to left, raising right hand and holding globe, around AETERNITATI AVG, (S.8603, RIC 83, RSC 41); others with different reverses including Virtus, Sol (2), Apollo (S.8648) (2), Liberalitas, Roma, Gordian sacrificing (2), Fortuna (2), Providentia (2), Concordia; all in packets described. Very fine - extremely fine. (16)
