ROMAN, 2nd century A.D., iron finger ring, of oval form, the bezel containing a carnelian intaglio carved with the image of Mercury holding a caduceus, (23mm diameter). Mild corrosion, the intaglio good very fine and intact.

From an old Sydney collection, purchased in 2007, US$675.
