FAMILY GROUP: (Father) Trio: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 3754 Pte J.Fisher 8 Bn. A.I.F. All medals impressed; (Son-in-Law) Trio: Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. VX100791 E.T.Fisher (sic) on first medal, VX100791 E.T.Fischer on last two medals. All medals impressed. The first trio with damaged, original ribbons, some contact marks, otherwise good fine; the second trio with contact marks, otherwise fine.

Document accompanying the service medals issued to E.T.Fischer confirms his entitlement to three medals, namely those listed above. He was not entitled to the 1939-45 Star.

Together with King's Silver War badge, number on reverse illegible due to solder marks; original Certificate of Discharge for Private John Fisher; photos including one in uniform and on back is written, 'Dadda Age 16 years 1915 Before he went overseas', a few postcards and a newspaper clipping; a riband bar for 1939-45 Star and Pacific Star and another riband for Pacific Star; Army Book as well as Demobilization Procedure Book for E.T.Fischer; 2 Leave Passes for E.T.Fischer; Anzac Appeal badge; a Certificate of Right of Burial in the Coburg General Cemetery named to Margaret Helena Burnett and dated 1 July 1914 (relationship unknown).

John Fisher, tinsmith, age 18, born at Brunswick, Vic; Enl.12Jul1915 at Melbourne, Vic, with 4 years in Senior Cadets 59A Bn; Mother, Mrs F.E.Fisher on 12 July 1915 gave him permission to enlist as his father, Lieutenant John Fisher who served with a Scottish regiment was deceased; the young John Fisher was keen to join so he could serve along with his eight uncles, SSgt Maj Edward Fisher, Lt Walter Fisher, Sgt James Joseph Fisher, Sgt Maj Terence Rufus Fisher, Cpl Martin J.Fisher, Dvr Eli Fisher and Pte Cecil Fisher, and another uncle, Robert Fisher failed on 5 occasions to enlist due to poor eyesight; Emb.28Nov1915; several offences of AWL or disobeying orders and also VD period of 73 days; WIA 14Oct1917 GSW head, Belgium; WIA 16Jun1918 GSW face, France; RTA 12Apr1919; Disch.28Jul1919.

Edward Thomas Fischer, clerk, born 06Jul1923 at Melbourne, Vic; Enl.30Jul1941 at Parramatta, NSW; became engaged to Beryl Jean, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J.Fisher on 27Dec1941; Disch.17Dec1945 as Sergeant ex HQ 7 Aust Div; Died in 1998 and funeral service held at Crick Chapel, Fawkner Crematorium on 2 November.
