MONTSERRAT, quarter dollar, Ferdinand VI, silver two reales, 1754M, Mexico City Mint, reverse countermarked with a couped cross, (Pr.2; KM.11.2) (6.13g). Nearly fine, countermark better, rare.

Ex Mark E. Freehill Collection, earlier R.Gordon Collection (Baldwins Sale 8 (1996), lot 52) via A.DeClermont with his ticket, also ex Ray Byrne Collection (Jess Peters Sale 78 June 1975, lot 932).
