ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.340-330 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.62 g), obv. female head to left with hair bound up behind in a sphendone, rev. seven grain barley ear, leaf to right, META to left, legend or thymiaterion to right, (cf.S.410, cf.Noe 435 and 136). Toned, nearly very fine and a possibly unpublished type.
