PALESTINE, Judaea, Hasmonean king Mattathias Antigonus, (40-37 B.C.), AE 24, copper eight prutah, (14.73 g), obv. double cornucopiae, Hebrew inscription, "Mattatayah the high priest and Council of the Jews", rev. wreath with partial inscription within **[BASILEOS ANTIGONOU]*, (S.6103, H.481, Meshorer 36f); AE 11, prutah, (1.45 g), rev. crossed cornucopiae with ribbons and ear of barley between horns, (S.6105, H.483). Light toning, good fine and rare. (2)
