PERSIAN IMPERIAL COINAGE, Kingdom of, Darius I to Xerxes I, (c.485 B.C.), silver siglos, (5.38 g), issued 500-485 B.C., struck at Sardis, Lydia, obv. king as bearded archer kneeling to right with spear and bow, rev. oblong incuse punch, (S.4678, BMC 19, Carradice Type IIIa, Plate XI, 14-15). Very fine, attempted piercing on obverse.
