ANCIENT SILVER AND BRONZE ISSUES INCLUDING, Artuqids of Mardin, Najm al-Din Alpi, (A.H. 547-572) (A.D. 1152-1176), copper dirham, pictorial type, no mint or date, obv. facing male heads (Gemini), rev. facing female head (Virgo), in name of al-Mustanjid on right side of obverse, (A.1827.5, M.1030, S/S 30.1, Edham 37, BMC 383); Seljuqs of Rum, Ghiyath al din Kaykhusraw II ibn Kayqubad, (A.H. 634-644) (A.D. 1236-1245), silver dirham, Sivas mint A.H. 639 = A.D. 1241-2, obv. lion to right with sun above, rev.. three lined inscription, in name of Caliph Al-Mustansir, (A.1218, M.983, BMC 197d [Vol.IX]); Parthia, Kingdom of, Vardanes I, (c.A.D. 40-45), silver drachm, Ecbatana mint, rev. archer seated right on throne, (S.5788, Sellwood 64.31, Shore 353); Sasanian, Khusru II (A.D. 590 - 627), silver drachms, (S.61, Gobl 209).
