ANCIENT ROMAN SESTERTII OF HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), Rome Mint, issued 133, (24.94 g), obv. laureate head to right of Hadrian, around HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, rev. around COS III, S C in exergue, Roma seated to left on cuirass, right foot on helmet, holding Victory and cornucopiae, shield behind, (S.3585, RIC 636d, BMC 1302, C.345) (illustrated); another, (27.32 g); another, (24.92 g), rev. Aeternitas standing front, head left, holding heads of moon and sun, (S.-, RIC 744); another, (27.94 g), rev. Fortuna standing left holding patera and cornucopiae, (S.3600, RIC 760); another, (23.47 g), rev. Hilaritas standing facing holding palm and cornucopia, two small children flanking her, (S.3602, RIC 970); another, (22.25 g), rev. unidentified. Toning, poor - nearly very fine. (6)
