ITALIAN CABASSET HELMET, mid to late 16th century, cast in steel and elaborately engraved, features four cartouches each featuring Mars the God of War, with a series of studs around the base to secure a leather headband which is now missing. Repaired at top and a few other places, also cracking around the base and a few small holes, otherwise very good.
