COMMONWEALTH, (1649 - 1660), silver crown, 1653 (30.02 g), mm sun, obv. .THE COMMONWEALTH. OF. ENGLAND. sun mm, shield with cross of St. George within wreath, rev. 1653. GOD. WITH. VS (V over inverted A), shields of England and Ireland co-joined, (S.3214, ESC 6A [R3], D.3772, KM.392). Attractively toned, nearly extremely fine and a rare variety.
