PARTHIA, Vologases I, (A.D. 51-78), silver drachms, (3.50 and 3.48 g), Ecbatana mint, obv. large size bust wearing a diadem to left with square cut straight beard, hair in five separate waves, rev. archer seated right on throne, seven line inscription, monogram AT and dot, (S.5801, Sellwood 70.13, Shore 373) (one illustrated); Vonones II, (c.A.D. 51), silver drachm, Ecbatana mint, (3.26 g), obv. short bearded bust facing, wearing tiara, with lateral motif a horn, stars either side very low over shoulder, rev. archer enthroned to right, mint mark below, (S.5797, Sell.67.1); Sasanian, Khusru II (A.D. 590 - 627), silver drachm, (3.95 g), Darabgird mint, dated year 31 (A.D. 621), with word "praise" in outer margin, (cf.Walker alpha [p.2] Plate I, alpha, cf.M.21, Sellwood type 62, Gobl 214). Toning, fine - good very fine, scarce. (4)
