TACITUS, (A.D. 275-276), billon antoninianus, Lugdunum mint (3.42 g), obv. radiate bust of Tacitus to right draped and cuirassed, around IMP CM CL TACITVS PF AVG, rev. around PAX AETERNA, B in left field, star in right field, Pax standing left holding olive branch and sceptre, (cf.S.11785, RIC 33, C.64) (illustrated, another, Arles Mint, (4.10 g), rev. around SPES PVBLICA, CA in exergue, Spes walking to left, holding flower and raising skirt, (S.11815, RIC 61, C.137). Toning, very fine - extremely fine and very scarce. (2)
