NORTHERN TERRITORY POLICE, AIDE curved hat badge (QC), 1980s, in chrome and enamel (50x79mm), with two lugs on reverse, numbered 'A148' on reverse, no maker's mark. Uncirculated.
Worn by Aboriginal members appointed under the Police Aide Scheme. Duties included coastal surveillance, tracking and community liaison as well as other activities. The badge is now obsolete.
